Set due reminders and receive notifications

Add reminders to time-sensitive tasks and understand in-app and desktop delivery.

On this page

Set a due date before adding a reminder

Open an incomplete task’s date control, set a due date, then choose a due reminder: on the due date, one day, two days, or one week before, or no reminder.

Choose another time if the reminder would already be in the past. Completed tasks do not need reminders; reopen a task before following it again.

Check the reminder status

Check that the reminder is scheduled. If the status says it is waiting to sync, reconnect and let synchronization finish before relying on it.

After changing a due date, check that the reminder still makes sense and has not expired.

Read reminders in Notifications

Open Notifications in the sidebar to view reminders and return to their tasks. The web app also keeps reminders here.

A deleted task, or a task not yet synced to this device, may not open. Check its state and your connection.

Enable system notifications on desktop

In the desktop app’s Notifications page, enable desktop notifications and send a test. Also allow TodoNote notifications in your operating system.

Keep the app window open to receive them. Do Not Disturb may hide pop-ups; you can still check the Notifications page.
